HACKENSACK - Laura Evelyn Budil, 95, of Hackensack, died peacefully Dec. 3, 2012, at her home surrounded by love. Laura was born Jan. 21, 1917, near Lewiston, Minn., to Emil and Sophia (Burfeind) Steuernagel. She attended and was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church at Lewiston and graduated from the Lewiston High School. Laura became a beautician and worked in Winona, Minn. She then boarded a bus for Chicago with a suitcase in one hand, and her bowling ball in the other. She was signed up for a bowling league in Chicago before she had found a job, or a place to live.

The Rev. Canon Steven Schaitberger, representing the Rt. Rev. James Jelenik, Episcopal bishop of Minnesota, will formally install the Rev. Glenn E. Derby as rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church at 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Schaitberger will also be the preacher. St. Paul's plans a gala installation liturgy. Many of the congregation will present Derby with gifts representing his ministry and many area clergy and Episcopal clergy from throughout the diocese have been invited to participate. The liturgy will be followed by a formal supper served in the undercroft.
