Authentic Italian desserts and wines will be served and there will be jugglers, street games and a palm reader.

Pakistan next topic for Cultural Thursday

Two students from Pakistan at Central Lakes College in Brainerd will present the next free Cultural Thursday program at noon Thursday in the Chalberg Theatre. The program is open to the public. Imran Samuel, 31, will talk about the variety of cultures in Pakistan, including foods, styles of dress, lifestyles and ceremonies. He also will talk about the contrasts with American culture. He said family bonding and a "joint family system" are part of Pakistani life.

Mexico to be next Cultural Thursday topicThe next Cultural Thursday program at Central Lakes College will be a journey to Mexico that begins at noon. Feb. 3 in the Chalberg Theatre on the Brainerd campus.The program is free and is 50 minutes long.Scheduled presenters for the program are members of the CLC Spanish Club, who in 2010 accompanied a shipment of clothing to Mexico as a donation to Friends of the Orphans.
