WALKER - Cass County Board voted Tuesday to seek state mediation and to hire Tom Fitzpatrick as legal counsel to represent the county in the mediation.

WALKER - Cass County will offer 18 non-conservation land parcels for sale at a 9 a.m. June 29 auction at the courthouse in Walker. One commercial city lot in Pine River will see the appraised price lowered from $8,500 to $6,000.

WALKER - Two-thirds of Cass County's employee retirement program is under the direction of Congress and the Minnesota Legislature. The county controls only a retirement insurance program available to some employees. The county employs about 260 people.

BACKUS - Environmental Services Director (ESD) John Ringle reported permits for new construction are down about 50 percent the first three months this year, compared with 2012.
