Dumbing down BSA Mormons are not OK with the idea of morally dumbing down the Boy Scouts of America with the admission of homoelective (homosexual) boys to the program.

Oldham earns Eagle Scout rank

Baxter resident and Brainerd High School Class of 2012 graduate Nicholas Oldham of Troop 44 earned the rank of Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts of America and received the Eagle Scout award at a special Court of Honor on Dec. 27 at the Northland Arboretum.To earn the Eagle, the highest rank in the Boy Scouts, Oldham participated in years of scouting, receiving rank advancements over time, completed at least 21 merit badges and led volunteers in a community service project. His service project consisted of clearing and marking snow shoe trails at the Arboretum.

For Newel Hirst, there wasn't a question of whether he would become an Eagle Scout. It was a matter of how long it would take him. Hirst, 15, was named an Eagle Scout at his Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony July 7.

Gertrude Rosier

PILLAGER - Gertrude Muriel Rosier, age 93, of Pillager, died on Nov. 9, 2012 at her home in Pillager. She was born on June 16, 1919 in Litchfield, Ill., to William and Esther (Greshem) Hudson. She married Frederick Rosier on Feb. 3, 1936 in Brainerd. Gertie was a retired cook at Roy's Cafe in Deerwood and Breezy Point Lodge. She is a member of the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Brainerd Ward.
