David Munger Kneeland was born Dec. 15, 1917, in Phillips, Wis., to Pierson and Lois Munger Kneeland and passed away Oct. 18, 2010, in Crosby, Minn. He graduated Principia High School and Principia College. He worked for American Airlines and served overseas in the Army Air Corps before coming to Deerwood in 1948 to start Burns Kneeland Lumber Company, now Lakes States Lumber. He was active in the wholesale lumber industry and served on the board of the North American Wholesale Lumber Association for many years and into retirement. He was a Past President of NAWLA. He was a member of the Shrine Aad Zuhman Temple.
