Thiede promoted with Civil Air Patrol

Derek Thiede, Pequot Lakes, was recently promoted to cadet second lieutenant by the Crow Wing Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol. Thiede recently completed all requirements for the Mitchell award.

Megan Malz, daughter of Scott and Nona Malz, Pine River, was awarded a $11,000 President's Scholarship and a $1,000 Art Scholarship by the College of Saint Benedict for the 2008-09 academic year. Both scholarships are renewable for four years.
