The Big Ten Conference announced Thursday that University of Minnesota men's golfer Robert Bell of Pierz has been named Co-Big Ten Conference Player of the Week. This is the first Big Ten Conference weekly award for Bell and he's the first Minnesota player to be player of the week since Bronson La'Cassie on April 7, 2007.
Cody Cederberg of Central Lakes College was in second place following the opening round of the MCAC state and Region 13 tournaments Monday at Cragun's Legacy Courses.Cederberg shot a 77 to trail first-round leader Ross Winters of Rochester by three strokes. Nate Richards (83) and John Sund (84) were CLC's second and third golfers.Katie Tast, the only CLC women's golfer competing, shot 98 and was in sixth place.Fergus Falls men's team led the first round with a 320.
