Services for Ginny will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Mission of the Cross Lutheran Church in Crosslake, Minn. Visitation will be Friday, May 10, 2013, from 4-7 p.m. at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Martin B. Etzler STAPLES - Martin B. Etzler, age 90, of Staples, passed away at the Lakewood Health System Hospital on Sunday, Oct. 21. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, Oct. 25, at 10:30 a.m., at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples.
Arthur Richard Kayala, age 90, of Brainerd, and formerly Pine River, passed away Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Bethany Good Samaritan Center in Brainerd. He was born to Tuomas and Sophia Kayala on April 7, 1922, in Pine River. Art married Hazel Healey on Nov. 11, 1944, in Batley, England. He served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper with multiple tours in Africa, Sicily and finally in the Battle of the Bulge. Art was employed by the State of Minnesota for 25 years and was also a dairy farmer.

STAPLES - Martin B. Etzler, age 90, of Staples, passed away at the Lakewood Health System Hospital on Sunday, Oct. 21. The wake will be held on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Brenny Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service, at the church. Parish prayers will be held on Wednesday at 6:45 p.m.
LITTLE FALLS - Artist Charles Kapsner stepped back from the giant canvas with paint brush in hand. "Until this is here, it's been hard for people to visualize it," she said. On the canvas soldiers are now taking shape as drawings amid a sepia tone background. The Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery Memorial Association commissioned Kapsner of Little Falls to design and create five oil paintings depicting the history of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard.
